My name is Claudia Towers and I received a Rhodanthe Lipsett Indigenous Midwifery Charitable Fund scholarship in 2017. I am currently a second year Midwifery student at the University of Newcastle. Since receiving the scholarship, I have continued to pursue my career as a midwife in both clinical and theoretical frameworks. Working with women and their families in a variety of settings has broadened my knowledge of the practice of midwifery, and I am excited to continue to develop these skills. The scholarship has allowed me to enjoy my journey of becoming a midwife without financial stress, as it has given me the opportunity to obtain the necessary resources required to continue to develop in this life-changing profession.
